Speakers:

Colin Marsh, Ecumenical Development Officer, Birmingham Churches Together

Colin will talk about their enews and how it fits into their strategy. This is a subscription based charity, and Colin will give insights from their experience

Pete Millington, Information and Health & Wellbeing Manager at Disability Resource Centre in Birmingham.

Pete has worked for user led disability organisations in Birmingham, Coventry and the wider West Midlands since 1990 and before that worked in the health service and the wider voluntary sector.

During this time Pete has become a self-taught editor of newsletters, magazines, blogs, websites and e-mailings, always working on tight and sometimes non-existent budgets to produce everything from glossy magazines with commercial advertising to quick-and-simple e-bulletins and integrated strategies using platforms like Blogger, Facebook, Twitter and Mailchimp.

Working in the disability field, Pete is also very conscious of the access implications of information and once set up an audio production social enterprise which produced information for people with sight loss and partial sight, including talking newspapers, as well as other materials in easy word formats.
